Nature Center Updates
DALTON DISCOVERY CENTER CLOSED UNTIL TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1
The Dalton Discovery Center and the John & Carol Walter Discovery Wing will be closed until Tuesday, October 1 when we reopen following our scheduled closure to guests in September. This closure will allow our teams to make necessary repairs and improvements for the benefit of our guests and ambassador animals.
REDUCED HOURS THROUGH SATURDAY, AUGUST 31
To avoid the highest temperatures during our summer months, we are reducing our daily hours for guests.
Tuesday, August 13 – Saturday, August 31
- The Nature Center will be open from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
- The Welcome Center, electric boat tours, and Daily Talks will continue during these dates and times, Tuesday through Saturday. We will continue our regular closures on Sunday and Monday.
- The Dalton Discovery Center and the John & Carol Walter Discovery Wing will be closed to guests.
Sunday, September 1 – Monday, September 30
- Our campus will be closed to visitors for our annual exhibit and campus maintenance. We will reopen to guests on Tuesday, October 1.
We appreciate your patience as we navigate these campus repairs and adjustments. Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope to see you at our Nature Center soon!

Story Times at the Conservancy
Join us every Tuesday in July at 10:00 am for story time! We will read an engaging, animal-themed story designed for young children. Participants will learn about the wonders of wildlife and then get a chance to meet one of our animal ambassadors!

Bring your little ones to our Little Explorer Play Zone to participate in multi-sensory, interactive activities, stories, and crafts. You will have the opportunity to learn about topics that relate to our mission of protecting Southwest Florida’s water, land, wildlife, and future. See weekly topics here.
