SB100 signed by Gov. DeSantis

July 6, 2021

On June 24, 2021, SB100 was signed by Governor DeSantis!  Thank you for all your calls and emails urging him to sign this important legislation. SB100 repeals the Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES) toll roads program.

M-CORES consisted of plans to build toll roads from Collier County to Polk County as well as toll roads in Central and North Florida.

SB100 does away with the Southwest Florida Connector between Collier and Polk Counties. This is a significant win for southwest Florida and the endangered Florida panther.  However, this bill does propose new or expanded roads that will impact important natural resources in Central and North Florida.

SB 100 is important progress.  We actively opposed the M-CORES projects and we will continue to support and work with partner organizations throughout the state fighting to protect other important state resources.
