Working with Nature: Building a flood-resilient future in Naples

April 7, 2026

As Southwest Florida continues to experience increasing challenges from flooding, sea level rise, and extreme weather, finding sustainable, effective solutions has never been more important. The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is inviting the community to be part of that process through an upcoming public workshop.

The event focuses on our ongoing “Working with Nature: Flood Resilience Blueprint” project that will result in high-level nature-based flood protection concepts for different characteristic areas of Naples.

Your Voice Matters

Join us on Tuesday, April 21, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Conservancy’s Eaton Conservation Hall. Staff from the Conservancy’s Environmental Policy team, along with the project consultants, will be on hand to share more about the project and to hear your feedback on the work to date, including visually appealing renderings of draft concepts.

Relying on Nature

This workshop is part of the Conservancy’s ongoing effort to champion nature-based solutions, such as restored wetlands, living shorelines, and green infrastructure, that can provide long-term protection to heat, flooding, and water quality challenges while enhancing the region’s natural beauty and ecological health.

Nature-based solutions offer a powerful way to protect our water, land, wildlife, and future—while building stronger, more resilient communities. This workshop is an opportunity to connect with experts, explore innovative ideas, and play an active role in shaping the outcomes of our resilience work.
