A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who took action, multiple times, on the Blue Ribbon Projects bills (SB354/HB299) as the legislation went through various committees on the way to the House and Senate floors. These bills, which would have paved the way for large-scale development in rural areas with little local government and public input, stalled on the floor and did not pass in either chamber. Your voices were heard in Tallahassee! This is a huge win for local land use planning and protection of our rural resources.
We are especially grateful for Senator Passidomo’s leadership and no votes on SB354.
Please note that we anticipate these bills will return, in some form, in the 2027 Legislative Session, so stay tuned!
